Recent Match Report – PAK Women vs IND Women 13th Match 2022/23

Toss Pakistan Women chose to bat vs India Women

Looking to bounce back from the shock defeat to Thailand, Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof chose to bat in their Women’s T20 Asia Cup clash against India in Sylhet.

Harmanpreet Kaur returned to lead India after missing the previous game against UAE; she replaced Kiran Navgire, while Radha Yadav came in for Sneh Rana. India continued to bench Shafali Verma, with Sabbhineni Meghana partnering Smriti Mandhana at the top.

Dayalan Hemalatha, Richa Ghosh and Pooja Vastrakar will be expected to shore up the lower-middle order with their big-hitting skills, and in Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Radha, India have two left-arm spinners to counter a right-hand heavy Pakistan line-up. They also have several offspin options in allrounder Deepti Sharma, Hemalatha and Harmanpreet.

Pakistan added more spin to their attack by bringing in left-armer Sadia Iqbal for experienced pacer Diana Baig. They also made a like-for-like swap with seam-bowling allrounder Aiman Anwer replacing Kainat Imtiaz.

India are currently top of the table with three wins in three games, while Pakistan are second after their defeat to Thailand. A win today will take them level with India on six points.
These two teams had played each other in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in July, where India beat Pakistan by eight wickets.
